Best Buddies

Abigail absolutely adores Kylah.  Now Kylah, on the other hand...well, I'm not sure this is how she envisioned spending her senior years.

Christmas 2013

We wanted to get Abigail's picture in front of the tree this year.  The only way we could keep her still was to put her in the rocking chair but then the challenge was getting her to keep her legs down!

We went to my parents' house the weekend before Christmas for the Barnwell celebration.  It was chaos with 5 little girls and a huge pile of presents!

Abigail was more interested in pulling the ornaments off of Nana's tree.

 And playing with the ribbons
The beads on the tree were most exciting of all!

She did finally pay attention to presents at the end.

Christmas morning Abigail had presents from Santa and from us.  Unfortunately, she also had a cold so she didn't get to enjoy her presents as much as she wanted.  She did at least get the hang of opening presents.

My two girls

We went to Johnathan's parents' house Christmas afternoon where Abigail had more presents to open.

A few days after Christmas, Johnathan's brother's family came to visit.  The kids had a good time playing together.

House Updates

Finally - things inside the house seem to be moving along.  I took these pictures mid-December before the painting was done.

Master shower - our tile guy was amazing!

Master bath

Hands down - the BEST part of the house!

The front porch is pretty great too.

Check out the fabulous backsplash thanks to Johnathan and our very, very good friend Jeremy Carlson .  I'm sure I owe him several dinners!

A Laid Back Thanksgiving Weekend

Abigail had her one year vaccines Thanksgiving week and Johnathan had some work he wanted to do at the new house so we decided to stay home and have a low key Thanksgiving.

Abigail is showing Kylah her new toys.

Enjoying leftover over mac & cheese from her party.

Hanging out in her chair.

Johnathan's parents stopped by Thanksgiving night on their way back to Florida.

Playing in the leaves again.

Checking out the holly bushes.  She doesn't seem to care that they are prickly.

Touchdown!

Happy 1st Birthday Abigail!

The first year has flown by.  I couldn't believe it when November 20 arrived and my baby girl turned one!

On the night of Abigail's birthday, we just had a quiet family celebration for her.  She got to enjoy her first piece of cake (thanks Harris Teeter for the free cake for her birthday!)

Note to self, do NOT get a cake with blue frosting in the future.

After cake, we did presents.  Abigail was more interested in the bows...

and standing on the boxes.

That weekend we had a party for her.  It was a farm theme and yes, I made the cake.  Yeah, I know you are impressed.  Ha!

Yum, chocolate!

All the Barnwell cousins - from left to right - Anna Grace, Madeline, Abigail, Lucy, Macy

Enjoying her new rocking chair from Nana and Paw-Paw.

I love how all her cousins took over and helped her get the presents opened.  Maybe she'll figure out the unwrapping party in time for Christmas.
