Look what I can do!

Abigail turned over from her stomach to back three times one night in early February and hasn't managed to do it again since then.  In early March she turned over from back to stomach twice one morning and then forgot how to do that - until yesterday.

Today she has rolled over to her stomach every time I've laid her on her back...and then she cries because she can't remember how to get back over.  She finally gave up this afternoon and fell asleep.  I have a feeling it won't be long until she is rolling from one end of the room to the other.

Construction Begins

After lots of waiting around for this or that, construction on our new house finally began.  Yeah!
The builder put in the driveway to keep the subcontractors from tearing up the ditch so of course we had to go see it.

Next came the excavation

Johnathan is standing in the kitchen.

And now he is standing in the mudroom.

Abigail wasn't too impressed with the progress so far.

A few days later we had the beginning of a foundation.

And the well is being drilled.

Solid Food!

The time has finally come for solid food.  Abigail got her first taste of rice cereal.  She wasn't too thrilled and after I tasted it, I knew why.  For her sake, I hope she gets that swallowing thing down soon so she can move on to tastier foods.

Grandparents Visit, Getting Closer to Kylah

Johnathan's parents stopped by for a visit on their annual spring trek from Florida back to Virginia.  Abigail had to tell them all about her day.

Kylah and Abigail are starting to have more interest in each other.

Kylah looks thrilled in this picture.  Just wait until Abigail starts grabbing handfuls of that fur!

Four Months Old!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Time flies!  I can't believe she's already four months old.  She looks like she is giving serious thought to something!

This is how dinner typically gets made at our house these days.

Farm Girl!

Johnathan had a long Reserve weekend in mid-March so I took Abigail and Kylah to my parents' house for a couple days.  Abigail got to visit Mam-maw, her great-grandmother, for the first time.

The weather was beautiful so we spent a lot of time outside with Nana and Paw-paw.

Paw-paw was ready to put her to work plowing the garden.

And then it was time to feed the cows.

Too Cute!

Eventually Abigail is going to learn to smile when she sees the camera as much as we put it in front of her face.  She's just too cute not to capture some of these moments.

Here's Johnathan and Mini Me again.

Poor Kylah.  This is not how she envisioned her senior years.

A blanket, a pacifier and Pooh Bear.  What more do you need?

Sitting up like a big girl.

It's never too early to get excited about football season.

Three Months Old!

I can't believe my baby girl is already three months old.  As Johnathan said the other night, she doesn't look like a baby anymore; she looks like a tiny person.  She's learning to do more every day.  I love watching her when she lays on her mat and plays with and talks to the animals.  One day she was busy playing, laying on her back in the middle of the mat, and I went to sort laundry.  When I came back this was what I found.

She was so tired and determined to get to her pacifier.  After watching her struggle to get it with her hands for about 5 minutes, I finally helped her out and as soon as she got it in her mouth, she was asleep.

She's such a big girl!

More books, Valentine's Day, Abigail's First Snow

Johnathan's other two books arrived.  They look so great and it's nice to finally have all four in print!

Happy Valentine's Day!

The Saturday after Valentine's Day we got a little bit of snow.  Of course we had to bundle Abigail up and run outside for pictures.

The next day all the snow was gone and we drove out to our property to see where the builder had marked off the house and driveway.  You can't really see the flags but we are standing where the house will go.  It was extremely cold and windy so Abigail stayed in the car.
